Colleen is an experienced registered yoga teacher and a Yoga Alliance continuing education provider. Her approach brings out the creative resourcefulness within each student to align with the innate intelligence of the mind and body. Colleen weaves together her understanding of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to give students practical tools to fully optimize health, vitality, and connection.

Colleen started teaching yoga in 1994 and has studied with esteemed national and international teachers including Patricia Walden, Dean Lerner, Sianna Sherman, Judith Hanson Lasater, Seanne Corn, and John Friend. She completed training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Anderson in 2014.

Colleen's Certifications: Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500+ (E-RYT 500) Yoga Alliance, and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). After acquiring her E-RYT 500 status, Colleen became an Anusara Inspired teacher through Shine Yoga's Teacher Training Program and completed training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Anderson.


Private Yoga
 

Colleen draws upon her 20 plus years of yogic exploration, graduate degree in exercise science/biomechanics, and professional experience in wellness to help students unite all aspects of being – body, mind, energy, and spirit.  She has experience helping students improve mobility after surgery, deal with effects from cancer, chemotherapy and stroke. She has also helped athletes optimize performance or recover from injury and has worked with an array of unique needs with a diverse population of students.

Yoga for Wellbeing

This 8 week series incorporates mindful movement with a focus on proper alignment, breaking poses down into easily digestible parts and providing modifications to help you experience each pose in a way that best works with your body. A holistic yoga approach including asana (poses), pranayama (breath), mindfulness, meditation, and yogic philosophy is woven into each class in an easy-to-understand, personal way.

Appropriate for all levels, a great way to harmonize body, mind, spirit, and breath.

Make-ups are permitted and 10% discount is offered if you sign up for two concurrent sessions.


Yoga for Athletes

 

Not to be confused with “Athletic Yoga,” this program helps athletes of all ages optimize energy to transform the competitive experience. Learn to balance the muscular and nervous system by counteracting the repetitive movements of your sport. Understand energy inputs, outputs and lifestyle practices that affect performance and speed recovery.

Yoga for Teachers

As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP),  Colleen offers continuing education courses for teachers in the following areas: Techniques, Training and Practice; Teaching Methodology; Anatomy & Physiology; Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics. Continuing Education course offerings will be posted on both BlissBlissBliss and the Mind Body Center/Natural Resilience websites.
