Ride with Us—Keep Trails Public, Keep Communities Strong

Team Trillium—Fran Torro, Robin Barnett, and Colleen Harshbarger—are back in the saddle! On September 28th we’ll ride all 105 miles of our beloved Mon River Rail-Trails to raise money for their upkeep. These trails are fiercely loved by locals and visitors alike—not just because they wind along rivers, trees, wildflowers, and migratory birds—but because they provide one of the only flat(ish) places around to walk, run, push a stroller, or learn to ride a bike!

Here’s a little about us: we’re three friends in our seventh decade of life, still saying “yes” to new adventures. Biking, hiking, and being outdoors keep us joyful and strong, and we’re glad to put in the miles for the trails that give so much back.

But here’s the bigger picture: trails like these are about more than exercise and scenery. They’re about protecting public lands and keeping them truly public. They’re about ensuring that everyone—regardless of age, income, or ability—has a safe, welcoming place to move, breathe, and connect. Trails are where neighbors meet, families gather, and strangers become part of the same story. They’re where we build the “unity” in community.

If you’d like to support, here are two ways:

🌿 Support local: Donate to the Mon River Trails Conservancy Century 2025 through our ride here: https://go.rallyup.com/mrtcentury/Campaign/Details

🌍 Support nationally: If you’re not from the Morgantown area, you can still help by giving to the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, the national nonprofit working to connect and protect trails across the U.S. → [https://www.railstotrails.org]

Every contribution—whether local or national—helps ensure our trails remain open, protected, and truly for everyone.

With gratitude,

Colleen (on behalf of Team Trillium: Robin, Fran & me)

P.S. A quick RallyUp tip: the platform asks for a default 15% tip, but you can set that to $0. And if you prefer, donations by check can be mailed to MRTC, PO Box 282, Morgantown, WV 26507—just note it’s for the MRTCentury and our team.
